Zach serve as the associate lead coach for the 18 Black & Silver combined training teams for the 2024-25 TCV Boys season.  He will also renew his role as the TCV Boys recruiting coordinator. 

In his second season coaching with Team Colorado (2023-24 season),  Zach lead TCV 18 Green to 2 RMR Division 2 victories, a USA bid at the 2023 Mountain Classic Qualifier (5th) and a 9th place finish in 18 USA at USA Volleyball Boys Nationals. 

18 Green athletes coached by Zach were highly awarded in 2024:

• Evan Brownsberger: AVCA All-American Watch List, Pikes Peak 2 League Player of the Year, CHSAA 2nd Team All-State, Gazette Preps All-Area 1st Team
• Cameron Ford: AVCA All-American Watch List, CHSAA 3rd Team All-State, Pikes Peak 1 League 1st Team, Gazette Preps All-Area 2nd Team
• Lucas Soeldner: Pikes Peak 2 League 1st Team, CHSAA Honorable Mention All-State
• Aiden Kranz: Pikes Peak 1 League 2nd Team 
• Jay Lozano: Pikes Peak 1 League 2nd Team 
• Roman Burnside: Pikes Peak 1 League 2nd Team 
• Caiden Gillman: Pikes Peak 2 League Honorable Mention

Zach also served as an assistant coach for Colorado College Volleyball, which earned a 12-4 SCAC record and advanced to the SCAC Tournament championship game. 

In his first full season coaching with Team Colorado (2022-23 season), Zach lead TCV 18 Green to a 14-11 D1 RMR record and top 10 ranking in the Region (4 RMR Power Top 5 Finishes), a silver bracket win at the Southwest Boys Bid Classic (18 USA bid), a bronze bracket win in 18 USA at the Dennis Lafata Boys Classic (St. Louis) and a 9th place finish in 18 USA at USA Volleyball Boys Nationals.

Zach also served as a volunteer assistant coach for Colorado College Volleyball, which earned a 11-5 SCAC record and advanced to the SCAC Tournament championship game. 

Team Colorado is delighted to welcome back TCV Alumni Zach Underwood as a coach for the boys program. Zach played for the TCV Boys program from 2016-2019. He was part of the first group of boys to compete for Team Colorado and helped build the program.  As a senior, he helped set the 18 Black team to a 10th place finish at the Winter Boys Volleyball Championship in Chicago, a 9th place finish at the Dennis Lafayta Boys Bid Tournament in St. Louis and two RMR Boys Power victories. 

As a high school athlete, Zach set the TCA and District 20 programs to three state tournament appearances and was named All-State three times. Zach participates in adult events including Colorado grass volleyball tournaments. 

Since graduating high school in 2019, Zach has been involved in coaching volleyball. His experience includes:
