I like to coach volleyball because I love the game and I want the kids I coach to love the game as much as I do. The way I approach coaching is to make volleyball a competitive yet fun sport to play. Once the boys play, then tend to get hooked on it! |
Zach served as head coach for the Team Colorado 18 Gray team in the 2022-23 Season. He lead the team to a 14-12 RMR season record, this included a division win in RMR Power 1 and a runner-up finish in the 2023 RMR Boys Regional tournament.

Zach served as an assistant coach for the 18 Black in the 2021-22 season. Zach helped coach 18 Black to an undefeated in-state record in junior play (5 RMR Power Victories), a second place finish in 18 USA at the Florida Fest boys qualifier (the clubs first USAV boys bid to nationals) and an 8-2 record in the 18 USA Division at USA Volleyball Boys Nationals.

Team Colorado is excited to welcome back TCV Alumni Zach Berghorst as a TCV Boys coach for a second season!
Zach played for the TCV Boys program from 2016-2019. He was part of the first group of boys to compete for Team Colorado and helped build the program. As a senior, he helped set the 18 Black team to a 10th place finish at the Winter Boys Volleyball Championship in Chicago, a 9th place finish at the Dennis Lafayta Boys Bid Tournament in St. Louis and two RMR Boys Power victories.
As a high school athlete, Zach helped restart the boys program at Cheyenne Mountain and was a two-time 1st Team All-State setter for the program in the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
Zach has been playing volleyball for more than 9 years and competes in local adult events.
