Gaven Hackley - 14 Green (2023-24)

WHY I COACH

I am excited about coaching the 14s team because I want to be a role model to them and show them what level they can reach if you continue to dedicate themselves to the TCV program and to grow the sport for boys.

2022-23 Season - 14 Green Assistant

Gaven assisted the Team Colorado 14 Green team in the 2022-23 season in his senior season as a TCV athlete. Gaven helped coach the team to 4 RMR 14U Power victories and 2 runner-up 14U power finishes. The team finished with a 20-1-2 record in Region boys power events. 14 Green also won the 16 club silver bracket at the USA Volleyball Boys Junior National Championship in Salt Lake City with an 8-3 record. 

PLAYING EXPERIENCE

Gaven Hackley was named tournament 18 USA tournament MVP at the 2023 USA Volleyball Boys Nationals after leading his 18 Black team to an 18 USA national title (11-0 at nationals). He will play for the University of Jamestown in 2023-24 to begin his collegiate career. 

Gaven lead TCV 18 Black to a 20-4 RMR record and #1 ranking in the Region  (3 RMR Power victories), an 18 USA silver bracket win in the Winter Championship in Chicago (18 USA bid) and a 5th place finish at the Dennis Lafata Boys Bid Tournament in St. Louis. He was also selected the U19 RMR Boys All-Star team. 

Gaven played for TCV from 2016-2023 (7 seasons) and brings a wealth of playing experience to his coaching role. Gaven helped lead the 18 Black team in the 2021-22 season to an undefeated in-state record in junior play (5 RMR Power Victories), a second place finish in 18 USA at the Florida Fest boys qualifier (the clubs first USAV boys bid to nationals) and an 8-2 record in the 18 USA Division at USA Volleyball Boys Nationals. 

Gaven was named to the 2022 inaugural RMR Boys All-Star team to compete at the USA Volleyball All-Star Championship. 

Gaven played high school volleyball at Douglas County High School and helped lead the Huskies to the first ever CHSAA state championship 2021 and a state tournament appearance in 2023. He was name first team All-State and All-Conference his season season and was recognized on the AVCA All-American watch list. Gaven also served as a team manager for the girls high school team at DC.
