The Team Colorado Little Spikers and Prep Program offers 1st - 8th grade Boys and Girls, age-appropriate VOLLEYBALL skill development to encourage player success, focusing on a solid technical base that will allow players to have FUN. Team Colorado Little Spikers and Prep will be the foundation of youth volleyball training to prepare those players interested in participating in club and/or high school volleyball. As the sport of volleyball grows at the national level, we feel that athletes in the area need to be provided better training at younger ages. Little Spikers and Prep teaches players all the necessary volleyball fundamentals and team concepts to establish a strong foundation for their volleyball careers.

Training Principles

• Maximum contact means maximum learning
• There is a time and a place for everything and when it comes to specialization, it should be later not sooner
• Players learn best by playing, not watching
• Develop well-rounded players and they will always be in demand
• We make sure they understand the why in order to build and maximize their volleyball IQ
• In the early ages, it is important to emphasize collaboration over competition
• While the training must be fun, it must also be structured and disciplined
• As with all subject matters, learning is maximized when we break down the process into small manageable parts
• It is important to continually challenge the players with new concepts in order to avoid learning stagnation/boredom/complacency
